Invisalign is a series of clear, removable aligners that straighten teeth over time, and can “treat nearly all common teeth-straightening issues.” Straight teeth are easier to clean and can therefore help prevent gum disease.
Dr. Nord is a certified Invisalign provider. Should a patient require conventional braces, she refers them to nearby trusted orthodontists.
You’ll be happy to share your new smile with this clear alternative to conventional braces.
With Invisalign, you’ll have a straight, natural-looking smile that’s just as effective as getting traditional braces.
Invisalign involves utilizing state-of-the-art 3-D computer imaging technologies in order to correct malocclusions and problematic bites by planning a comprehensive sequence of customized clear aligners. Each aligner in the series is to be worn for at least a week, as they incrementally and gently move your teeth into position until they achieve the desired corrections.
You may be a good candidate for Invisalign if you:
-Previously had metal braces. Some adults decide to wear Invisalign if their teeth have shifted after removal of metal braces.
-Want a straighter smile.
-Are dedicated to achieving that new smile. Invisalign aligners must remain in position in order for them to be truly effective. It’s recommended for patients to keep their aligners in their mouth for at least 22 hours per day, and only remove them to eat and brush their teeth.
-Practice good oral hygiene. Naturally, it’s essential to keep your teeth and your gums clean. In addition, you will need to take consistent care of the aligners when they are out of your mouth and prior to putting them back in.
