Dr. Annie Nord was born and raised in Bloomington-Normal. She graduated valedictorian from University High School and Magna Cum Laude from Illinois Wesleyan University. At Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine she graduated Cum Laude, won the Dean’s Scholarship Award and awards in both Implant and Restorative dentistry.
She belongs to several professional organizations including the Chicago Dental Society, McLean County Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, Illinois State Dental Society, and American Dental Association.
On September 1, 2017, Dr. Nord took over the practice of Dr. Daniel Milligan and has been serving his patients, and new patients, ever since. In August of 2022, she moved Nord Dental into her current office at 103 North Regency Drive.
“I love getting to know my patients and hearing about their lives. I try to treat everyone like family, in that I want them to receive the best possible dental care. I’m confident in my growing knowledge in the field of dentistry and treat people with compassion and honesty.”
Dr. Nord traveled twice to Honduras with the IWU Global Medical Brigades for medical mission trips where she helped the dental team and to Jamaica with the Christian Dental Society to provide free dental care for those who could otherwise not afford it. Annie studied abroad in Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands and is a conversational Spanish speaker. During her time on the islands, she volunteered at the San Cristóbal dental clinic.
Annie is a mother of three and enjoys spending time with her husband and kids. She likes working out and doing just about any outdoor activity such as golfing, playing tennis, fishing, camping, trap shooting and hunting. Growing up she was a trampolinist and a member of the USTA National Tumbling and Trampoline Team for 8 years. She was involved in several activities and sports in high-school and college such as basketball, tennis, cheer leading, student council, playing piano, and chorus. Annie is a dedicated pool player and loves practicing her hand-eye coordination on a pool table.
“During a dental exam, I put myself in the mindset that I’m examining myself. If I see something that I would want treated if it were me, I will tell you. When I’m working on teeth, I pretend I’m working on my own teeth. I’m a perfectionist so this means I’m going to try to do the best possible job because that’s what I would want someone to do for me.”
